RAFINOR expands operations by launching silver refining line
RAFINOR, Romania's leading precious metals processing industry, announces the expansion of its operations with the launch of a silver refining line, starting next year. The decision marks a new chapter in the company's development and comes in response to growing demand for silver in strategic sectors - renewable energy, electric vehicles, microelectronics and digital technologies.

According to the general manager of the Romanian refinery, silver is no longer just "gold's little brother", but is becoming a resource with a strategic role in the global economy. Silver, a new pillar of RAFINOR's development
With the launch of the new line, RAFINOR will produce certified silver with a purity of 999.9‰, meeting the highest international standards. Local production will allow fast deliveries, full traceability and optimized costs for companies in Romania and the region, offering a safe and competitive alternative to raw material imports.
This expansion strengthens RAFINOR's position as a strategic partner for emerging industries, providing direct access to a metal essential for the development of green technologies and the circular economy.

Gold and silver, complementary directions in RAFINOR's portfolio
Silver refining complements RAFINOR's main activity - the production of investment gold with a purity of 999.9‰. The company owns the most advanced refining line in Romania, with a current capacity of over 6 tons of gold per year and plans to expand to 8 tons in 2026.
RAFINOR is currently the only gold refinery in Romania, producing investment gold bullion ranging in weight from 2.5g to 100g. Demand for these products grew steadily in 2024-2025, especially from authorized distributors supplying the retail market, confirming Romanians' growing interest in physical gold as a form of savings and financial protection.
